Holiday House London opened the doors of two stunning houses, located in St John’s Wood, Northwest London in November and December 2017. All the rooms in the houses displayed the work of renowned names in the world of interior design. With Holiday House approaching it's 10th year in the running after 9 successful years in New York, Rachel had the idea to bring the brand over to the UK. Acting as Creative Director UK, Rachel worked closely with Co-Chair Joyce Misrahi throughout the process and was a key element in the eventual success of the event.
Rachel designed the main dining room in House 61, pulling from brands that Rachel has worked with extensively over the years. The completed space was the result of an organic process, where Rachel designed the room around her own likes and used materials and finishes that resonate with her.
The dining room, which was one of the first rooms that could be seen after walking through the door at Holiday House, was one of the most popular rooms. The Momento Mori chandelier by Lasvit was a total charmer and captivated visitors.Along with pulling together some of the world's top designers for a glamorous show, Holiday House London was first and foremost a charitable endeavour, with all the proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Giving back is critical to how Rachel Laxer Interiors operates and the design practice will continue to be at the centre of philanthropic events in the future.
